Valdez-R&D-Martian Chronicles

SYNOPSIS
The Martian Chronicles
is a 1950 science fiction short story collection by Ray Bradbury that chronicles the colonization of Mars by humans fleeing from a troubled and eventually atomically devastated Earth, and the conflict between aboriginal Martians and the new colonists. The book lies somewhere between a short story collection and an episodic novel, containing stories Bradbury originally published in the late 1940s in science fiction magazines. For publication, the stories were loosely woven together with a series of short, interstitial vignettes.

WORDLIST

Statement of Intent
Being that this is a work of scifi from the 1940s-1950s, I think it would be cool to create a book cover that resembles that of the typical 1950s movie posters/book covers. When the book is opened to reveal the poster, I would like the poster to be a map of some sorts. Every fold would reveal a map characteristic such as a compass, legend, topography, etc. In the end to reveal a map of either old earth, or new mars. I would like to play off the idea of the 1700s style of maps that explorers used, being that this books themes play a lot off of the colonization of the United States.
